北京中轴线承载着这座古老首都深厚的文化底蕴，这里的山与水赋予了它得天独厚的天下第一风水。山是景山，在这个北京城的最高点可以俯瞰整个城市的风貌；水是护城河，它是一条环绕故宫的水道，既能防御又增添了美感和灵气。这样的山水组合，构成了北京中轴线上的风水宝地，被认为是龙脉的所在。
The Central Axis of Beijing, bearing the profound cultural heritage of this ancient capital, the mountains and waters here form a unique and favorable feng shui. The "mountain" here refers to Jingshan Mountain, overlooking the entire city. The "water" here refers to the moat: the waterway travels around the Forbidden City, which not only serves as defense but also adds to the beauty and aura. Such a combination of mountain and water is definitely a treasured land of feng shui on the Central Axis of Beijing, which is regarded as the den of the Dragon Vein.
2023年暑期，塔吉克斯坦留学生何洛晗来到了位于北京市西城区的景山公园和万宁桥，与多位中国专家老师们一起揭开景山和万宁桥背后的风水之道，了解古人如何利用自然的山水，来规划和建设城市，体现天人合一的思想。
In the summer of 2023, He Luohan, a student from Tajikistan, came to Jingshan Park and Wanning Bridge in Xicheng District, Beijing, to learn about the story of feng shui behind Jingshan Mountain and Wanning Bridge, and how the ancient people made plans to build the city based on the natural mountains and waters here, reflecting the idea of unity of heaven and man.
“万宁桥作为北京城市山水风光的杰出之作，用来代表北京水文化再合适不过。”北京建筑大学教授王锐英介绍，万宁桥被称为“京城水运第一桥”，在桥上眺望，整个什刹海尽收眼底，还能远眺景山、北海等北京老城的名胜。在万宁桥、地安门等北京中轴线上历史建筑的周围，金水河、护城河与“六海”水系交织，这些一齐构建了如今北京老城区蓝绿交织的城市基本色调，也由此构建了相对完整的城市框架，形成一派水陆交通共融的和谐景象。
"Wanning Bridge, as the epitome of Beijing natural scenery, best represents Beijing's water culture." Wang Ruiying, Professor of Beijing Architecture University, explained. Wanning Bridge has the reputation of "the greatest bridge for water transportation in the capita". Viewed from the bridge, the whole Shichahai lies under, and Jingshan Mountain, Beihai and other famous places in the old city of Beijing are also within sight. Around Wanning Bridge, Di'anmen and other historical buildings along the Central Axis of Beijing, the Jinshui River, the moat, and the "Six Seas" water system are intertwined, which together form the basic color tone of interweaved blue and green for the old city of Beijing today, thus building a relatively complete city framework, forming a harmonious integration of water and land transportations.
“万宁桥及其所处位置的选址布局，都体现了中国传统风水学说中‘未看山时先看水’的智慧。” 易经京房六爻传承人、六个橘子文旅创始人之一周琛说。
"The site selection and layout of Wanning Bridge reflect the wisdom of the saying in traditional Chinese feng shui, 'For location choice, waters go before the mountain' . "Zhou Chen, I Ching Jingfang Hexagram Inheritor; Founder of Six Oranges Cultural Tourism said.
在北京中轴线上的最高点——景山，这座人工堆积的小山，与皇宫遥相呼应，风景秀美的同时，选址上也蕴含天人合一的智慧。
The highest point on the Central Axis of Beijing—Jingshan Mountain. This artificial mountain, formed by piling earth, echoes the imperial palace. It is not only beautiful in terms of scenery but also contains the wisdom of unity of heaven and man in terms of site selection.
景山是根据风水学说“背山面水”而设，通过挖掘湖泊整修水系，将挖出的泥土堆积形成山峰，创造出山环水抱之势。登上景山凭栏远眺，可一览皇城全景。此外，景山五座亭子的布局，也暗合五行学说，将金木水火土合理组合，达到阴阳平衡。站在景山之巅的万春亭，正处于中轴线的中心点，亭子高度经过精确计算，刚好可望见皇宫轮廓，又形成衬托紫禁城的天际线。
Jingshan Mountain was built according to the feng shui principle of "leaning on the mountain and facing the water" ; by digging the surrounding lakes and streams and trimming the water systems, people piled up the waste to form peaks, creating a situation of being surrounded by mountains and waters. Climbing to the top of Jingshan Mountain and looking for the distant scenery, we can see the whole view of the imperial city. In addition, the layout of the five pavilions on Jingshan Mountain also conforms to the theory of Five Elements, combining the elements of gold, wood, water, fire and earth reasonably, achieving the balance of yin and yang. Situated at the top of Jingshan Mountain, the Wanchun Pavilion is right at the center of the Central Axis, and the height of the pavilion was calculated accurately, just enough to see the outline of the palace.
